I looked across, into her gaze

And then to my surprise

A captivating smile

With a pair of sparkling eyes

A cheerful grin that pulled me in

A voice that numbed my senses.

A perfumed haze, that dulled my gaze

And lowered my defences

A beauty that belied her age

And hid the strains of life

Who was to know she soon would be

A mother and a wife

On reaching out, she touched my hand

And made my knees go weak

She pulled me close and held me tight

Then kissed me on the cheek

Like statues, intertwined we stood

I held her in my arms.

Then fell into my loves embrace

Surrendered to her charms...
